About Us

Darnley Fine Art is a London gallery specialising in fine paintings and works on paper from the 16th to the 20st century. Established in 2007 by Adrian Pett and based in the historic Cecil Court — steps from the National Gallery — we hold an extensive and carefully curated collection of over 920 works.

We are one of London's leading specialists in 19th-century Orientalist paintings of the Middle East, and the principal dealer in lithographs and paintings by David Roberts RA (1796–1864). We are also the only gallery in the UK dealing in original paintings commissioned for railway posters from the 1920s and 1930s. Our wider stock spans Old Master portraits, Victorian paintings, Modern British art, Post-Impressionist works, and sculpture.

We advise private collectors and institutions on all aspects of acquisition, framing, ongoing care and insurance, with absolute confidentiality assured.

Darnley Fine Art can be found at 4 Cecil Court, just around the corner from the National Gallery, nestled between Leicester Square and Covent Garden.

Cecil Court is a 17th-century passageway, now lined with Victorian shopfronts behind which can be found all kinds of art and antiques. The street is rightly described as ‘a hidden gem in the heart of London‘.
